Our Jin Leung ("Dragon's Gold") is perhaps the finest and freshest black tea available outside of China. Rarely imported to the West, this special loose black tea (also called "red tea" in China) is grown organically only in the Fujian Mountains. In China, black tea is referred to as hong cha--red tea--but should not be confused with the Rooibos red bush tea that westerners call "red tea."
When steeped, this variety is more similar to English black, only without added flavors and very fresh. These dark red leaves bring forth a rich, deep flavor, distinctly black but with an earthy-woody after-flavor. The air-tight paperboard container and sealed inner bag keep it fresh.
